Meeting at MoEFCC with participating States (Gujarat, Uttrakhand, Delhi)

A meeting was held at the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, under the chairmanship of Mr. A.K. Mehta, Joint Secretary (International Cooperation) on September 09, 2016 with the key stakeholders from the participating States in the SEIP Project and GIZ to exchange information on the prioritized activities, their progress and to set major milestones and timelines. 

Key representatives of the State Infrastructure & Industrial Development Corporation of Uttarakhand (SIIDCUL), Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (DSIIDC), Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation, Vapi Industries Association, SIIDCUL Manufacturers Association of Uttarakhand, Patparganj FIE Entrepreneurs Association, state pollution control boards of Gujarat and Uttarakhand, Central Pollution Control Board, CII and GIZ participated in the meeting.

Constructive discussions amongst the participants ensured that decisions and the way forward was agreed upon with consensus. Decisions on broad timelines and milestones, state & site level project monitoring structures/reporting and clarification on the commitment from the partner agencies for implementation of solutions were discussed. Decisions also were taken on implementation of measures progressively for reducing pollution at the project sites and also to start working on concrete measures under policies/plans for reducing pollution in industries and industrial areas.
